The Revive Edit — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026

The Revive Edit Limited ("The Revive Edit", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.

By using our website, subscribing, or otherwise providing us with your information, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

The Revive Edit Limited is the entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, requests, or complaints about your privacy, you can contact our Privacy Officer at: hello@thereviveedit.co.nz

2. What personal information we collect

We only collect the personal information we need to deliver our product and run our subscription. This includes:

  • Full name

  • Delivery address

  • Contact phone number

  • Email address

  • Payment details — your card information is collected and processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.

Where you have taken part in one of our surveys, we also hold the information you chose to provide in that survey.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information beyond what is needed to deliver your edit, and we ask that you don't send us sensitive information we haven't requested.

3. How we collect your information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you — when you subscribe, buy a one-off box or a gift item, create an account, contact us, or fill in a form.

  • Through our website — hosted on Squarespace, when you place an order or interact with the site (see section 8 on cookies).

  • Through surveys — our pre-launch survey was run using Google Forms, and we collected the information participants volunteered through it.

We collect information directly from you wherever we reasonably can.

4. Why we collect and use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • process and fulfil your orders and deliver your edits;

  • manage your subscription, payments, and account;

  • provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;

  • send you service-related messages (for example: order confirmations, delivery updates, and billing notices);

  • send you marketing communications where you have not opted out (see section 7);

  • understand our audience and improve our products and service; and

  • meet our legal and tax obligations.

We will only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect, unless you agree otherwise or the law requires it.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the third parties that help us run the business, and only to the extent needed. These currently include:

  • Stripe — to securely process payments.

  • Squarespace — to host our website and manage orders and accounts.

  • Google (Google Forms) — used to collect survey responses.

  • NZ Post or other similar courier service when required — to deliver your edit to your address.

We may also disclose your information where required or permitted by law, or to protect our legal rights.

6. Storage, security, and overseas transfer

6.1 We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, and we rely on the security measures of the reputable providers we use.

6.2 Some of our providers, including Stripe, Squarespace, and Google, store information on servers located outside New Zealand. By providing your information, you acknowledge it may be stored and processed overseas.

7. Marketing and your choices

7.1 We may send you marketing emails about The Revive Edit, new editions, offers, and brand news, where you have subscribed, purchased, or opted in.

7.2 Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, and we will stop sending marketing messages. We may still send you essential service messages relating to your orders or subscription.

8. Cookies and website analytics

8.1 Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used.

8.2 We may use analytics tools to understand website traffic, and in future may use advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel to show relevant ads to people who have visited our site.

8.3 You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the site works.

9. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. Financial and transaction records are generally kept for at least seven years to meet Inland Revenue and other legal requirements. When we no longer need your information, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.

10. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you; and

  • Request correction of that information if it is wrong.

To make a request, email us at hello@thereviveedit.co.nz. We will respond as soon as reasonably practicable, and within the timeframes required by law. There is generally no charge for making a request.

11. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@thereviveedit.co.nz so we can try to put things right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.

12. Children

Our product and website are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
